La Factoría

This is ALWAYS on our must-do list when we visit Viejo San Juan!! The back rooms are very cool but don't open until later in the evening. They have the coolest speakeasy spot in Puerto Rico! We came this time on a cruise so we didn't get to visit the other rooms that we usually hit up but the drinks are fantastic!! My wife got the lavender mule and I got the Spices Old Fashioned.

Maybe the coolest bar I’ve ever been to- each themed room truly has its own unique vibe and hopping between them was SO fun. The salsa room was lively and the EDM room’s DJ was phenomenal. Really fun crowd, made even better by the fact that the minimum age for entry is 23. Fresh fun inventive cocktails made for an awesome night!

Oh my god, La Factoría with live salsa completely blew my mind! The vibe, the dancing, the music — it’s all just incredible. Definitely a place you can’t miss. The cocktails are excellent, and it’s such a cool experience discovering hidden little bars behind different doors. It does get really hot inside, but honestly, I had an amazing time and would go back in a heartbeat.

Wow!! John at the smaller craft bar on floor 1 is a maestro. The Malbec (La Factoria’s take on a Manhattan) was incredible. The espresso martini and the ‘Sangria’ were also incredible. The ambiance in this bar and all of La Factoria is so cool, old-world and eclectic. You walk through a bathroom, through a sliding door, up some dimly lit stairs with water pipes hanging down and brick shown through the cracked stucco! Love it! I picture a scene from a James Bond film in here. Craft drink prices were super reasonable too. Old San Juan is full of cool bars and cafes and they are all great, but La Factoria is the king! Just watch the videos and make it a priority to go here! Go “early” unless you like the sardine-packed vibe. Keepin’ it real, no kickbacks!

This was, hands down, our favorite spot in San Juan. We went both in the morning and at night, and both experiences were amazing. The bartenders were incredibly kind and professional — they prepared our cocktails right in front of us, based on personal recommendations, and really made us feel special. The cocktails were absolutely fantastic. We tried several different ones, and each had its own unique and delicious flavor. The atmosphere is that of a stylish, elegant bar — I’ll share some photos! Whether you’re looking to relax after a long, hot day or wind down after a night out, this is the best bar in Old San Juan. Highly, highly recommended!

We heard about this place while on our cruise—it’s iconic for being the “best bar in the Caribbean.” We stumbled upon it without even knowing as we explored old San Juan during the afternoon on a Saturday. It wasn’t very busy and allowed us to grab a seat at the bar and have a front seat to the bartender making our drinks which was such a cool experience to watch! We had an old fashion and a guava mojito which were delicious! Definitely a highlight of our trip and recommend.

La Factoría – The Best Bar in the Area, Hands Down La Factoría absolutely lives up to the hype. It’s definitely the best bar in the area—great ambiance, incredible cocktails, and a vibe that’s both lively and welcoming. The space has so much character, and every drink feels thoughtfully crafted. A must-visit spot if you’re in San Juan. Highly recommended!

I went to dance at this place with my friends because everyone recommended it. It did nit disappoint. It 's located in Old San Juan. Every room in this 2 story building has a bar with a different theme and music, so you can walk around from room to room and enjoy different types of music rhythms like Salsa, techno, reggaeton, techno, etc. The salsa room was packed with people dancing. It seemed like a good combination of locals and tourists.
